WHAT SKILLS TRAINING CAN'T TEACH YOU
Strength and conditioning is physical preparation for basketball. Speed, power, endurance, stability and flexibility, planned around your games and your body.
Jump and move
Combined resistance and plyometric training improves vertical jump and change of direction performance in basketball players.
Lower injury risk
A structured ten minute neuromuscular warm up cut ankle and knee injuries by 36% in youth basketball players.
Managed workload
Training stress is planned around your court time, so you build capacity without burning out during the season.
THE RESEARCH
lower rate of ankle and knee injuries in young players using a structured neuromuscular warm up program.
of targeted work per week improved sprint and change of direction speed for elite players during the season.
of youth players show gains in jumping, sprinting, agility and balance from structured athletic programs.

THE ADVANTAGE
Every sprint, cut, jump and box out draws from the same tank. A stronger, more powerful and better conditioned player has more physical reserve to accelerate, brake, absorb contact and repeat those actions deep into the fourth quarter.
Skills win games. Reserve lets you use them for all forty minutes.
The Athletic Academy runs alongside your regular Academy sessions. Skills training builds your game. Athletic training builds the body that carries it. Same coaches, same culture, same building.

How many sessions per week do I need?
There is no universal number. Two well targeted sessions per week improved performance for elite players in season. The right dose depends on your age, training history, games and recovery.
Will lifting make me slow or bulky?
No. Basketball programs are built around force, power and movement, not size for its own sake. Research shows sprint, jump and agility qualities improve when the work is programmed properly.
Skills or strength, which matters more?
They solve different problems. Court work builds your game, athletic work builds the capacity to use it. The Athletic Academy is designed to complement your Academy sessions, not replace them.
