But then you age out of those teams, politics get involved or selections don’t go your way… what now? Where do you go, and what do you do next?

Most programs are built around teams, seasons, and selections, not long-term player development and opportunity. They don’t give you a plan, they don’t track your progression, and they don’t prepare you for what comes next.

Real development requires more than just playing games. It requires a system, one that nurtures individual skill development, team development, basketball education, and IQ, multiple times per week, led by professionals in the field.

Game film and highlights shared across our college coach database and network to create genuine scouting and recruiting opportunities.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Work on your individual game in our Basketball Lab Academy weekly, designed to develop individual skills and maximise transfer into real game situations.

EXCLUSIVE TEAMWEAR

Exclusive limited edition custom team wear and accessories for the specific AAU campaign your apart of.

TEAM PRACTICE

Master elite team basketball concepts, principles, and systems under the guidance of professional coaches weekly.

GAME FOOTAGE

Every game is filmed and shared with all players and parents for their own personal use.

GAMES

Build into each AAU competition with pre-tournament games, then perform at the AAU tournament.

MEDIA PACKAGE

Players have the option to purchase a professional photo and highlight package from the tournament (separate service).

FILM STUDY

Every game is followed by a detailed film breakdown, analysing possessions, decision-making, execution to educate players and make high-level adjustments.

Registration

Fill out the AAU Program Expression of Interest with the utmost detail possible to receive updates on AAU trial times, dates and information.

Trial & Selections

Attend trials, players will be selected and chosen for our AAU program. Please note, spots are limited and not all players will be selected.

Commit to Program

Following trials, teams will be announced via email. Players will have 24 hours to accept their place in the program, otherwise the position will be offered to the next available player.

Program Commencement

The program starts 10–12 weeks out from the next AAU tournament, providing structured preparation leading into competition.

AAU PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

Current involvement with The Basketball Lab — Academy, facility membership, or both — has zero influence on AAU selection. Selection is based on suitability, commitment, standards, and team needs.
Playing time is not guaranteed. Players earn their minutes every game through effort, attitude, preparation, execution, and team contribution.
Training is expected to be held on Sunday mornings at this stage. Unless there are approved representative commitments, players are expected to attend.
Selection means committing to the full program, not only tournaments. Attendance, communication, coachability, and standards matter throughout the entire preparation block.
Parents and players must understand that roles can change. Line-ups, rotations, and responsibilities are decided by coaches in the best interest of the team.
Dates, training times, tournaments, fees, and travel requirements may change as details are confirmed. Families will be updated as early as possible.
